Mark Altman is based in the Waco office of Naman Howell. His practice focuses on personal injury and transportation litigation, construction litigation, legal ethics and professional responsibility, and small business advice. Prior to joining Naman Howell, Mark served as a member of the US Navy JAG Corps working various times as a prosecutor, defense attorney, and staff judge advocate. He currently serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy JAGC Reserves. Mark's diverse experience as a Navy JAG provides him with a comprehensive perspective that enables him to identify and prioritize his clients' objectives and develop strategies to achieve their ultimate goals. His military legal experience has also drawn him into political and constitutional law matters across a wide range of legal issues.

Mark is authorized to practice before the Northern, Western, Southern, and Eastern Federal District Courts of Texas.

Mark is very active in the legal community of Waco and is deeply committed to public interest legal issues. He volunteers as legal counsel at the Baylor Law School Veterans Clinic, where he was recognized by the Texas Supreme Court for his efforts in providing pro bono legal services on behalf of indigent veterans. He is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Texas Young Lawyers Association and serves on the Texas Access to Justice Commission Veterans Committee.

Mark simultaneously obtained a Master's in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor degree from Baylor Hankamer School of Business and Baylor Law School. He is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Astronautics.

Beyond the Law

Mark is married to Jacqueline Altman, another attorney in the Waco office.  They have one wonderful four-year old son.  When Mark isn’t working, he is an avid fly-fisherman and amateur photographer and loves sharing those passions with his son.
