Naman Howell attorney Jacqueline Altman was recently quoted in Law360 for
her thoughts on the issue of Judge Alan Albright and his patent litigation court.
Judge Albright is the busiest patent judge in the country. The Federal
Circuit has repeatedly chastised his court for his refusal to transfer
patent cases out of Texas. Mandamus petitions have been granted against
Judge Albright from the Federal Circuit, laying out what the appeals court
expects in the analysis.
From the article,
“Albright May Be Getting Fed. Cir.’s Message On Venue”:
The judge has taken note and is explicitly giving the Federal Circuit what
it wants formulaically, said Jacqueline P. Altman, a Naman Howell Smith
& Lee PLLC member who is among a group of attorneys who advise Judge Albright.
"The Federal Circuit has been pretty clear that 'This is the analysis
we need to see,'" Altman said, adding later that "he is
making a concerted effort to directly address the Federal Circuit, and
say, 'If you are telling me this is what I need to analyze, this is
exactly what I'm analyzing.'"
