Wesley Filer is principally involved in the representation of clients in
connection with business transactions and in estate planning. While the
emphasis is on federal and state tax matters, his practice in the general
business and estate planning areas in includes advising clients with respect
to the formation, operation and liquidation of business entities (including
general and limited partnerships, joint ventures, business and professional
corporations, professional associations and nonprofit corporations), purchase
and sale of business entities and assets, and formulation of estate plans
(including succession plans for business owners). His experience includes
four years as a trial attorney with the Tax Division of the United States
Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., during which time he completed
the graduate tax program at George Washington University Law School. He
is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in both
tax law and estate planning and probate law.
