Enid A. Wade is a member of the firm. She is in the litigation section of the firm, and her practice includes a range of trial work.  She has extensive first-chair trial experience. 

Mrs. Wade defends governmental entities and law enforcement personnel in section 1983 actions and claims brought under the Texas Tort Claims Act.  Mrs. Wade defends and works with managers and employers on employment matters. She handles cases in which plaintiffs have asserted claims for violations of the Whistleblower law, claims for harassment, discrimination, and retaliation in violation of Title VII, Chapter 21, the Worker's Compensation Anti-Retaliation Act, the ADEA, the FMLA and the ADA.

In addition to Mrs. Wade's trial work in the area of employment law, she also has a great deal of litigation experience involving environmental law, civil rights, product liability and general insurance defense.

In addition to her work in litigation, Mrs. Wade also works extensively with employers on matters which do no arise from litigation and does work intended to help employers avoid being sued and minimize their exposure. Specifically, Mrs. Wade spends a significant portion of her time drafting employment agreements, severance agreements and releases, employee manuals and employment policies; she also conducts sexual harassment investigations and sexual harassment training; she advises employers about whether and how to take disciplinary action, up to and including termination, and she advises employers regarding safety policies, workplace investigations, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination Employment Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She also prepares position papers for employers in response to Charges of Discrimination filed with the EEOC and TCHR, and she represents employers in hearings before the Texas Workforce Commission.
